NFL Divisional Playoffs - Weekend Predictions

By Ozzie | January 10, 2008

I really don’t expect to see any big surprises in this weekends match-ups.  I believe that all the teams that had the week off last week {Patriots, Colts, Cowboys, Packers} will prevail and advance to their prospective conference title games.  Exactly how the NFL scheduling department drew it up,  it will set up rematches of this year’s regular season meetings between the favorites to advance to the NFC and AFC title games (Packers vs. Cowboys) (Colts vs. Patriots).  I know I am not going out on a limb to pick an upset, but maybe my picks will give you a hunch on who I think will put up a fight and at least cover their spreads.  I am surprised the spreads are set so high, so have fun with the points everybody..Here are my picks:

Seahawks +8     Over 42

Patriots -13       Over 49.5

Chargers +9      Over 46.5

Cowboys -7        Under 47

Watch out for those hungry Jaguars, they have been flying under the radar.. but they will show the true beast that they are in the playoffs.

LOOK FOR TOMLINSON TO HAVE A BETTER GAME BOTH RUSHING AND RECIEVING WHILE PLAYING ON A BETTER FIELD THIS SUNDAY. LOOK FOR THE CHARGERS TO WIN.

NOW THE GIANTS CAN TAKE DOWN THE COWBOYS IN DALLAS. THE GIANTS HAVE BEEN PLAYING BETTER AS OF LATE UNLIKE THE COWBOYS.

New England’s run defense surrenders 4.4 ypc, but opposing teams have been forced to abandon the run early, because the Pats offense has built insurmountable leads. It will be interesting to see if the Jags can capitalize in the latter stages of the game with their potent running attack (if they can somehow contain Brady and co.). Actually, throw that crap out the window, Patriots in a laugher 42-13…look for similar results in Indy at the Charger’s expense.
Roll with the Patriots over at 43.5 on a teaser along with the cowboys at -1 for easy cash.
Oh, and don’t count on the words “we want the ball, and we’re gonna score” to come out of Hasselbeck’s mouth this time around vs. the Pack.

The favorites won on Saturday, but both the Colts and ‘Boys get upset. Good call 7dueceFLYMAR …You called both upsets, you have a good grasp on the big games(i.e. calling the Gators)…Keep it up!
